Maira joined the OSP community as an art therapy intern while receiving her Master’s in Art Therapy from Adler University. After learning about OSP in her undergraduate art therapy classes at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, she has continuously referred to the OSP process in her artistic practice and everyday life. In her studio practice as a painter and ceramicist, Maira creates modular artwork exploring community and connection. This directly influences her work at OSP, guiding her to work from a humanistic perspective that is both culturally aware and trauma-informed. Through OSP, Maira explores the experiences of working with diverse populations, specializing in adaptive art directives for any and all artists.
