Janet Beals
Janet Beals is the Chief Development Officer at Gads Hill Center, a 109-year-old family resource center in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood, where she leads a team of professionals who raise $1 million in private funds each year.  She lives in Roger Park with her husband Gil Orejudos. Gil and Janet have three grown children and two grandchildren.  Janet has an MBA from Simmons College in Boston, MA.

Janet discovered the Open Studio a decade ago during a career change, and has used the process ever since to help her make or weather key life changes such as getting married, buying a house, making career decisions, and, most recently, creating a financial plan for retirement.

Janet has been Board President and Chair of Strategic Planning for the Studio, and facilitates adult classes on Tuesday evenings.

Cal Calvird   Cal Calvird
Cal has enjoyed facilitating adult OSP classes and workshops since 2002. He has a MA in Interdisciplinary Art from Columbia College Chicago and is licensed clinical massage therapist (LMT). A glass artist for many years before discovering the Open Studio Project, he credits the process for expanding his view of art making and his current work ranges from photo installation to concrete casting. Cal has maintained a studio at the Greenleaf Art Center in Rogers Park since 2000 and has exhibited his artwork regionally.

Barbara Goldberg   Barbara Goldberg
Barbara Goldberg discovered Open Studio Project when it first came to Evanston and, upon reading its mission, knew it was where she belonged. She has an MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Involved in the arts for over 30 years, she has worked with all levels. At the Art Institute of Chicago, she wrote teacher manuals, ran workshops, and helped teachers integrate art into their classrooms. She has worked with women and children at a shelter for battered women using art and writing as a means of expression. Her artwork has been exhibited in numerous art galleries in Illinois and Wisconsin.

Ted Harris   Ted Harris, MA, LSW, CADC
Ted has been a very grateful facilitator of the Open Studio Process since 2001. He served as Operations Director at OSP from 2001 to 2010. He has a Masters Degree in Philosophy from Harvard University, and a Masters in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago. He also has a certification in Preservation Carpentry from North Bennet Street School, Boston, and is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor in the state of Illinois (CADC). He has had the opportunity to do extended work with many social service organizations around the Chicago Area including Y.O.U., PEER Services, Alternatives, The Archdiocese of Chicago Office for the Protection of Children and Youth, St.Francis Hospital Behavioral Health, and Hazelden Chicago. Like all of you (trust me on this one), Ted is an artist and musician. Ted currently serves as a Staff Therapist in the Healing Connections Program at PEER Services. His favorite animal is the American Buffalo.
